The Mouse that Roared

Under the leadership of Mrs. Jan Simon, Mrs. Kaye Sandborn, Ms. Mary Eddy and Ms. Erica Kowal, the St. Patrick Drama Department will present a spring production of The Mouse that Roared.  The play will be performed at the Portland Playhouse on Friday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m.

The Mouse that Roared was written in 1955, and has been performed many times, most notably with Peter Sellers in 1959.  It is the story of a girl who is the present Duchess Gloriana, ruler of Grand Fenwick, a tiny country in the Alps.  Gloriana's unique solution to the near bankruptcy of her tiny country is to declare war on the U.S., lose and then accept aid from the U.S. When her "declaration" is considered a prank, Gloriana decides to escalate! Tully Bascomb, presently in charge of the countries army, is to launch an attack so they can surrender and reap the rewards. Serious-minded Tully, however, upsets all calculations when he and his bowmen do the last thing expected? They win!

Cast and crew members include Gabbi Simon, Audrey Russman, Katie Simon, Luke Wilcox, Arianna Sologar, Evan Pelfrey, Julia Sandborn, Joe Jandernoa, Liz Freeman, Clayton Stiffler, Holly Freeman, Missy Schrauben, Tori Beard, Cristin Stiffler, Adrienne Thelen, Emma Kebler, Mariah Arwood, Tangela Willemin, Molly Heilman, Marissa Manning, Kellie Shattuck, Hannah Harte, Wendy Rutherford, Richelle Vallier, Katie Pung, Paul Pung, Joey Pung, David Simon, Josh Haga, Jerrid Smith, Tyler Kramer, Amber Meyers, Shelbi Wilcox, Megan Pline, Michelle Fox, Emily Fox, Allison Werner, Victoria Spitzley, Laura Spohn, Sidney Hill, Nicole Schneider and Jocelyn Schrauben.

Performances will take place on Friday, March 27th @7pm and Saturday, March 28th @ 1pm at the Portland Playhouse.  Ticket prices are $5 for students and $7 for adult.  Contact the school office for ticket information.
