Mr. Jordan Smith
Jordan Smith is beginning his science teaching career at St. Patrick High School. He is a graduate of Cadillac High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from Spring Arbor University. Currently Jordan is working on a Master of Science in Biological Sciences degree at MSU.
Jordan brings many innovative techniques along with an enthusiastic approach to educating his students. “I believe that science is something than can never truly be appreciated from reading a textbook; it needs to be experienced! With that in mind, I try to plan plenty of hands on laboratory activities to help students become engaged in science. It is my goal to get the students into the lab to do some sort of laboratory activity at least once a week” states Mr. Smith.
School principal Randy Hodge has been very impressed with Jordan’s efforts. “Jordan has been very effective in the classroom. His energy and talent have been demonstrated at every grade level in which he teaches. Mr. Smith is continuing to build on the foundation that has been laid at the elementary and middle school levels. He is making sure all of our students will be well prepared for science classes they take at the next level. We are very glad to have him on our teaching staff” says Mr. Hodge.
Jordan concludes, “As a new teacher, I feel like one of the team already; everyone I have met, students, faculty and parents, have been incredibly friendly and welcoming. What a blessing to be part of such a Christ-like community! I am excited to be part of the St. Patrick school family as I help open the eyes of our students to the wonders of God’s creation!"
